Africa Energy Innovation (AEI) is transformative, Africa-owned, and Africa-led inclusive non-profit effort to deliver tangible support and investment in R&D and innovation in energy technologies to indigenous African R&D institutions and new startups.
When we look at the current energy landscape, it is clear that innovation is going to drive and determine the energy development combination and consumption of the future.
Our Team
The Executive Body (Administrative): This is made up of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and an Administrative team. The administrative team implements and executes on the strategic plan and vision of the BOD. Additional roles and responsibilities are provided in founding documents of AEI.

What We do
We are continuously involved in projects that add value and the usefulness of all available energy resources in Africa, from oil and gas to renewable energy. Our R&D support/investment program has the potential to unlock innovative energy technology solutions to reduce CO2 emissions and increase access and availability to our abundant energy resources for use in development and improvement of the welfare of our populations in the coming decades.

This annual event provides the platform for R&D Academia and Innovators in energy to participate is a Challenge or competition, showcase talents and help AEI to discover, support and invest in promising/credible innovative energy solutions within R&D universities/institutions and the Innovation ecosystems. This is an inclusive opportunity for robust competition among potential energy technological breakthroughs in order to benefit from our grants support. Competitions are launched and managed by our panel of experts, and supervised by the Board of Directors.
